downright drizzling in dublin

Da Dubs!

Dublin was a great city! Not to mention it was full of Yellow Jackets – just the way I like it. A few weekends ago, Nick & I headed to Dublin to catch the GT – Boston College football game. We had a ton of friends come in, and a lot we had not seen since our wedding or even before. It was so great to catch up and hang out with all these college pals.

On Friday, we flew in from Hamburg and went straight to our AirB&B that we were sharing with two college buddies and their girlfriends. We then headed out and walked around for a bit before going to Guinness to meet up with some people. It was literally like a college reunion in there. It was so much fun seeing some people that I’d not seen since I left ATL in 2012. We had a lot of catching up to do and spent a while in Guinness. Afterwards, we went to a local pub with a few friends before meeting up with a large group for dinner. I think our group was a bit rowdy and getting some stares at dinner. Oops !! After dinner we went to a bar that someone deemed the GT bar and holy heck there were hundreds of GT people in this one bar. There was a band playing and I of course requested Sweet Home Alabama. Such a fun night. We headed back to the AirB&B cause Saturday morning we knew would come quite soon.
GT stuff everywhere!!

On Saturday we woke up and it was raining…and raining….and raining. It was actually raining outside and inside too {we could not get our shower to turn off…oops}. We walked about halfway to the stadium before realizing that it was never going to stop raining so we went into a pub. Yes, a pub… at 10am. It opened at SEVEN A.M. So ridiculous! After a bit there we headed to meet up with the crew and ended up at a place closer to the stadium. The game was at 12:30pm so we went in about noon and started to get prepped for the game! We had great seats. Front section but the last row so we were covered from the rain but had amazing views {Thanks Grady!!}. The score was GT 17 - BC 14 .... you what that means... JACKETS WIN! After the game we meandered around for a while with friends hopping from one place to the other before Nick and I decided to go back at 10pm haha. We are officially old.

On Sunday, Nick & I checked out the Book of Kells at the Trinity College Library. Really cool
exhibit but the library itself was the best part in my opinion. It reminded me a lot of the National library in Vienna just not as ornate but very special in a different way. The main area is called the Long Hall. After the exhibit, we found a local crepe place, yum, and then bought some half off game gear {hoodie + tshirt} from the day before from a store. We just walked around the river and took in a few more views before heading back to the airport.

so accurate
bored at the airport with a layover and a delay
Dubs was a lot of fun. The delayed flight back to Hamburg though was not. Seeing all our pals was an absolute blast as always and huge shoutout to SAE for definitely having the most fraternity members at the game.
