perfectly playful prague

On Friday March 18th, Nick and I got into Prague. We headed to a local brewery and restaurant that was phenomenal! It was right next to our hotel. I got goulash. We also had a few local beers! I instantly loved Prague. The hotel we stayed at was so cute and old-timey.

On Saturday, we woke up and walked around for awhile and checked out the main Easter market in the center of town. Europeans sure do love Easter!!! Then we headed to do our tour with our normal company (Sandeman's). We had a great tour guide and the tour in general was super informative. After spending most of the morning with our guide we grabbed a quick lunch then headed back to meet up with him and do the tour of the Prague Castle. This castle may be one of the most interesting castles I've ever seen. The types of architecture are so vast. The church that is attached to the castle is a magnificent sight! I think when I walked in it truly took my breathe away. It was by far the most gorgeous church I have ever laid eyes on. After the castle tour we headed to this monastery where monks brew beer. It was very cool experience and we got some great food too! We had met a couple that was on both of our tours that went along with us. On Saturday night, we took a jazz cruise. We sat at a table with two other girls and it was so nice to just listen to music and cruise the river during the night. The lights are so gorgeous that light up the whole city.  After that it was time to hit the sack! :)

On Sunday we headed to Charles Bridge. Charles Bridge is a bridge that connects the two sides of Prague (one is the main old town and the other side is the castle). It's very famous and there were tons of people on it when we went to check it out. After walking across to the other side, Nick and I just meandered through the streets of Prague. I mostly just looked at all the architecture and Nick took photos of course. We then headed back to the other side and back to the main square to walk around a bit more. Next on the list was the Powder Tower. We climbed up to the top of this tower and got a great view of Prague. Prague is a gem for sure! I was not sure if I'd like it much as I've heard it's more of a party city and I fell in love with Vienna. But I was definitely pleased with everything I saw and did in Prague as well! Last stop before heading back to good ol' Hamburg was the Jewish quarter. There is a Spanish Synagogue there that was very cool. We ended up not having enough cash for both of us to go in so Nick let me :) - check out the pictures below. It was ornately decorated and had a much different vibe than the churches we have seen.
